Who would have thought when we ordered these pieces back in January that the weather would only just be inching close to nice enough to wear them? I do love living in the midwest, but sometimes a more consistent weather pattern would be nice, no? Enough weather musings, on to the important stuff!

Bella Dahl is a new line for us. We couldn't resist these comfy casual pieces and think you won't be able to either.

First up, the pullover placket shirt in pale denim $85. We paired it with the foldover waistband wide leg pant in sand $107. You have to touch them for yourself to see how soft the fabrics are. Perfect for a spring or summer stroll around town.

Here are the same foldover waistband wide leg pants in army $107. We like these with a loose white tank and blush colored duster or grey slim fitting cardigan.

I also want to mention how wonderful the foldover waistband is. You can wear it unfolded so that it acts as a waist smoother, or fold it over to smooth out the hip area. Who doesn't need a little smoothing every now and again? So flattering!

Again with the super soft fabric! This v-neck tee in blue with fading in all of the right places ($66) is the new version of your favorite tee. You know, the one you wear so often, it has started to thin. Go ahead, throw it away! OK OK, we know it's so hard to say goodbye. Just put it in the back of a drawer so you are not tempted to wear it anymore. Whenever you go to reach for it, think of this little number instead!

Ah yes, the dress. This machine washable 100% linen dress is the epitome of summertime cool. We are imagining it with pure and simple black midcalf leggings and some cool black leather flip flops or t-strap sandals. It would also work great as a swimsuit cover up at the beach or pool.

That's right. Fresh out of the box! I wish the thermometer wasn't reading in the negatives right now! I'm feeling so inspired to wear these new pieces!

First up is this great one pocket striped racerback tank. I love the grommets on the pocket. So cool! The color is called concrete, which means it's grey with black flecks and a great burnout detail. Note the long torso length. $68

Foxy. That's how you will look in this dress. The ruching is so flattering, I can't find words to explain it. While this is long enough to wear as a dress, it also looks great with leggings or skinny jeans. The rayon/spandex fabric is super soft and the putty color is flattering on all skin types. $138

These three beauties arrived just the other day from New York City. New York City?!?!

They are the first of our Spring 2011 orders to arrive and they are gorgeous and can totally be worn right now. (Especially if you are going on vacation to an amazing tropical destination!) The Navy and White maxi dress ($275) with brown skinny belt is made from a gorgeous silk fabric, has a cool racer back detail and is fully lined. We paired it with a faux pearl necklace and a rayon and silk blend wrap cardi ($125) in pink.

We just received these new items and I am so happy we ordered them! All of the pieces are one size fits all and are so comfy! The fabric is super stretchy, yet form fitting. the bandeau is perfect to wear under anything. Get the wine for a little something extra or go for black like I always end up doing! The tank is a great layering piece to wear under anything from a cardigan to a blazer. Stop in and give them a try. They are really great scarves from Italy that we decided to try when we saw them in Chicago a few weeks ago. They pretty much go with everything and at $35-$45 you can't not take one home with you!

I love these outfits! Topin diagonal striped tunic and William Rast skinny jeans. This tunic looks great with black leggings as well. That's my favorite way to wear it! liquid navy blue silk top with 525 lightweight long sleeve fly away front sweater and liquid white denim pants with navy belt. So Spring I can't take it!

What a great purple color, and this jersey is so soft.

First up, we have what I have taken to calling the 'snap back top'. Yes, the snaps go on the back, and they are each a different color metal. Very clever! Subtle, but cool. As always, the top is available in XS-L and can be yours for $65. Also available in black.

Last night, I was working on steaming all of the new covet and liquid items to get them ready to put on the floor. I must say, some of the colors in the liquid order seemed so out of character to me. I decided to move along and try to come up with some cool outfit ideas that did not involve any black. SOOO out of character for me and actually quite a challenge. While I did come up with some others, this one was/is my favorite. Start with cool covet long sleeve cowl neck tunic in teal $80. Add even cooler covet wool jacket in plaid $189. Now, we don't carry hosiery or shoes, but this is what I envision...thick grey tights and camel or brown flat boots. I addition, we do carry jewelry, however this unfortunate lady has no arms. If she did, I would put a bunc of gold bangles on her wrist.

In the two years that we have been open, I have come to understand that most of my customer's closets have plenty of black tops, jackets, and pants, so I decided to try to add some color for this fall season. I finally did it! I have been obsessing over these bags ever since I started going to the New York shows. They are on the pricey side, but a great deal for the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. The line is called jalda and they are made in LA. I can't wait to get them in. The sweater on the right came in a few weeks ago. Originally, I thought it was a 3/4 sleeve, but then one of my friends tried it on and the sleeve length hit right above her wrist. Awkward length, no? After several more try-ons and the same response from all, I decided to email the vendor to see what was up. Turns out this sweater has a bracelet length sleeve, which falls right between full length and 3/4. Whatever! Although it looks odd when worn by itself, it looks great when worn with a dress shirt underneath, as shown at right. The sweater is also available in cream.

Public Art

This summer marks the first public art project in Shorewood. Thirty artists from the Milwaukee area decorated butterfly shapes, which are now residing outside of sponsoring businesses for the summer. They will all be up for auction on August 23rd. The one above is located right outside SHOP. stop by and check it out!

You know you want to rock the one shoulder look, and for $55 this is a great try it and don't regret it dress. While it looks like this dress would be super clingy and hard to wear, it is actually one of the most comfortable and flattering things I have ever tried on. It has a fitted inner layer that allows the top layer to hang in a nice drape. Yay!
